Applies chemistry formulation development principles & techniques to pharmaceutical products & problems. Requires PhD or foreign equivalent in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, or a related field + 2 yrs of experience supporting formulation development from small-scale laboratory experimentation to scale-up on pilot & commercial equipment. Alternatively, employer will accept a Master in the above listed fields + 5 yrs of experience supporting formulation development from small-scale laboratory experimentation to scale-up on pilot & commercial equipment or a Bachelor in the above listed fields + 7 yrs of experience supporting formulation development from small-scale laboratory experimentation to scale-up on pilot & commercial equipment. Must have full term of experience with the following: proficiency in characterizing compound properties, including solubility, stability, pKa determination, solid form evaluation, & excipient compatibility; expertise in optimizing formulations to enhance bioperformance & ensure shelf-life stability; ability to identify, assess, & implement innovative tools & technologies to advance formulation science & development techniques; experience in leading technical presentations & discussions at departmental & project team levels, & providing strategic updates to senior management; & skilled in authoring & reviewing technical reports, regulatory submissions (FDA), & contributing to intellectual property (patents), peer-reviewed publications, & conference presentations. Up to 10% domestic travel required.
