Act as project lead & allocate funds in budget tracking system for assigned projects. Design complex parts using AutoCAD/3D for production, check fixtures/jigs for production use. Mentor co-ops & new engineers by organizing meetings to demonstrate procedures for writing bid specs & investigation reports.
Requirements: BS mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, or related engineering discipline, & 1 year manufacturing engineering experience. Proficiency with mechanics of materials, including launch of dies/equipment used to manufacture high-quality automotive sheet metal body panels & parts for new model introduction; tooling & machining for die development, die tryout lead onsite, & countermeasure direction setting; and 3-D design & implementation. Experience with PLC programming; OSHA & ANSI; torque & tightening management & analytics; and Power Apps or Power BI development. Position subject to possible relocation to unanticipated worksites throughout U.S. Up to 30% travel.
