D. E. Shaw & Co., L.P. seeks full-time Software Developer, DESIM to work in its office in New York, New York.
Responsibilities:
- Research, build, deploy, and maintain distributed real-time software to support trading, modeling, front-office analytics, and operations
- Develop software using Python, Perl, and C++
- Guide and oversee software projects performed by junior team members
- Leverage object-oriented design methodologies, design patterns, and other software best practices
- Interface with non-proprietary systems, including operating systems, databases, and real-time data feeds, as well as systems from counterparties
- Perform mathematical and quantitative analyses, including the application of numerical techniques to develop statistical models for computerized financial trading strategies
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Three (3) years of experience with:
- Programming in Python, Perl, and C++
- Object-oriented and functional programming
- Software design patterns
- Debugging software in a UNIX environment
- Parallel computing frameworks including OpenMP or MPI
- Mathematical optimization
