The University of Phoenix, Inc. seeks an Operations Research Data Scientist to report to HQ in Phoenix, AZ. The position involves designing, developing, and programming statistical and analytical solutions to deliver business insights for the management, planning, and optimization of operations, strategies, and student learning. Position may telecommute from anywhere in the U.S. 5 days per week.
Position Requirements:
Master's degree in Computer Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, Industrial Engineering or a related field plus 6 months of data science experience in a higher education environment with:
- SQL programming producing read/write/modify nested queries
- Data preprocessing by slicing data into cohorts & snapshots
- Development & deployment of models scoring in batch or real time
- Batch processing of data & model results
- AWS Lambda, AWS Redshift, AWS SageMaker cloud environments & tools
- Statistical analysis tools including R, Python for machine learning, regression & tree-based models, & Ensemble methods
- Statistical analysis with normal distribution, confidence intervals, upper & lower control limits, & p-value
- Researching new tools & technologies in the market & presenting findings to leadership
- Applying logical reasoning skill to ad-hoc analyses
- Presenting data insights to non-tech stakeholders
Experience may be gained before, during or after Master's degree.
Annual salary: $102,000
