Provide engineering support for SLAC accelerators & associated systems. Create & review mechanical component designs, provide technical oversight on procurements, perform pipe stress, develop procedures for & provide support for fabrication, installation, operation & maintenance of UHV accelerator & associated system components.
Requirements:
Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or related field. 2 years of engineering experience in a lab or R&D environment, including strong experience in each: CAD design of mechanical components; preparing engineering documentation including technical specs, reports & plans/procedures; supporting machine shop and/or field work; Solid Edge. Thorough knowledge of the vacuum, cryogenic, process piping, & structural disciplines. Ability to work & communicate effectively in a team environment with project management & specialists in other fields. Good presentation skills with excellent written & oral communication skills. Hybrid schedule permitted within commuting distance.
