Valmet, Inc. seeks a QCS Lead Engineer in Norcross, GA. Job Duties:
- Sales phase
• Technical sales support (when needed)
• Attending transfer meeting from Sales to Projects
- HSE
• Providing safety communication
• Maintaining own safety knowhow & trainings
- Definition phase
• Basic data from customer
• Scanner & sensor specs and order
• Definition material
• Specifications for controls generation
• Initialization orders for logistics
• Attends to project meetings when needed
• Kick-off meeting with end-customer
• Quality assurance of engineering
• Review and getting approval for technical material from end-customer
- Implementation phase
• Software generation
• Loading modules to system and system build-up
• System dimensioning
• Progress report of engineering - reports to project manager
• Coordination and support of application engineering
• Quality assurance of engineering
• Back-up copies of engineering data
• Change management
• Take-over inspection together with project manager, system engineer and Logistics operations
• Application engineering
• Designing of system modules
• Designing of diagnostics modules (system and networks)
• Collecting of documentation for FAT
• Preparing of commissioning plan together with project manager
• Proposals for project purchases
- FAT
• FAT kick off meeting
• FAT testing and documentation for QA
• Supervises necessary changes during FAT
• Final system testing together with commissioning engineer
- Commissioning phase
• Installation supervision
• Sensor calibration
• Control tuning
• Operator training in daily use
• Follow-up of progress
• Progress reports for end-customer and project manager
• On-site meetings
• Change management
• Attends in installation inspection with end-customer
• Installation inspection report
• Attends system hand-over meeting with end-customer
• Removal of extra applications, stations and features from engineering system and automation system
• Prepares and updates punch list (work list after start-up)
• Performance report
- Handover to Customer Service
• Attends in transfer meeting when needed
- Project closing
• As-built documentation for Customer (Machine manual with as-built drawings)
Must be available to work on projects at various international client sites in Finland, Canada and Mexico, up to 50% of the time. Some telecommuting is permitted.
