Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in biological or chemical sciences; and Categorical ASCP, AMT or AAB specialist certification in Molecular Biology or applicable specialty.
Job Description:
The Certified Technologist III NYQ in the Genomics laboratory will provide services of a technical and non-technical nature for Next-generation sequencing and Sanger sequencing testing; will operate/maintain instrument platforms such as the Illumina NextSeq and NovaSeq, the ThermoFisher Genexus and 3730, DNA extraction/quantification, and non-invasive prenatal testing; perform routine and complex lab tests to provide physicians with accurate results; will participate in preparing specimens for processing; perform waived, moderate, and highly complex analytical processes; establish, perform, and document quality assurance, quality control, and equipment maintenance; oversee proficiency testing; confirm and verify results through in-depth knowledge of techniques, principles, and instruments; correlate and interpret data based on knowledge of factors affecting test results; data handling and input. This position is a specialist in the lab and does not provide services as a generalist.
