Teradyne, Inc. seeks Applications Engineer in San Jose, CA.
The Applications Engineer will focus on program development for NAND flash memory, a non-volatile storage technology that uses NAND gates to store data in memory cells protocol product line. The programs developed will be used to:
• Checkout new features on our hardware.
• Validate our hardware supports new specs as specified in the high-performance flash storage tech. including UFS & NVMe (Non-Volatile Memory Express) protocols.
• Check runtime code to ensure stability & functionality of software releases before they are sent to customers. Work with customers to debug their programs & help them improve their apps to get the most throughput from our products.
The Applications Engineer will:
• Provide detailed documentation of problems in the product so that engineering can reproduce the problem & fix it.
• Generate documentation for the programmer's manual for the UFS & NVMe testers. Proofread material from a customer's perspective to ensure the material is understandable & accurate.
• Create & update the UFS & NVMe training materials
• Ensure material is accurate & current.
• Describe how our hardware works & interacts with UFS & NVMe protocol devices. Understands architecture of the customers' products & our product to be able to deliver a technically accurate & understandable training class.
• Participate in customer meetings to understand & define what capabilities the customer wants to see on our product. Then create the program that follows the customer requirements. While doing that, take proper coding practice into account to ensure that the demonstration program is both efficient & understandable. If the throughput achieved by the program does not meet a customer's needs, then find out what is making the program slow. Then re-architect the program to gain better throughput or work with engineering to define new features & capabilities to improve throughput.
• Join marketing in customer meetings to answer technical questions raised by the customers. On low level technical topics, present these to the customer engineers in a way they can understand. Then answer questions they have on the product.
