Quantitative Analyst, DESIM (New York, New York): Quantitative Analyst, DESIM positions available. D. E. Shaw & Co., L.P. seeks full-time Quantitative Analysts, DESIM to work in its office in New York, New York.
Responsibilities: Analyze Active Equity portfolios, the Orienteer fund, and the Lithic fund based on exposure, risk, and performance. Check monthly and quarterly investor reports for accuracy. Develop and present "thought leadership" materials for client engagement and information. Run analyses for bespoke client requests and perform quantitative research to help development of alpha models. Attend and participate in client meetings. Present at monthly Investor Relations team meetings to provide updates on portfolio performance.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering (any), or a related quantitative field of study plus three (3) years of work experience with computer programming in Python; data analysis methods; scientific analysis of financial data and interpreting results; analyzing and summarizing academic papers and replicating results; performance attribution analyses, including Brinson, factor, principal components, and time series analysis; and, communicating math and finance concepts to a broad audience in written and presentation format.
