The Senior Aircraft Systems Engineer will actively work on and/or support the technical development and certification of the aircraft and its systems across multiple engineering discipline areas. Areas of cognizant knowledge and active participation within Radia for the aircraft development will include but not limited to program management, systems engineering & integration (safety, cyber-security, reliability & maintainability, EME, software, human factors), aircraft integration, avionics, electrical, air management, ice & rain protection, landing gear, flight controls, engine controls, configuration & data management, test & evaluation management, EWIS.
The Avionics Systems IPT Leader will lead, and be actively involved in, the project management, technical development, and certification of the Avionics System of the aircraft to the latest FAA 14 CFR Part 25, 26, 91, 119, 121 regulations and guidance. This includes being responsible for and leading the technical development of Avionics System functional scope and requirements, system architectures, interface documents, validation & verification plans, certification plans, etc.; as well as the project management and coordination of the integrated product team (IPT) across a matrix organization, including focals not only from Avionics but also supply chain, manufacturing, systems engineering & integration, structures integration, flight sciences, technical publications, and fleet operations. This Avionics IPT Leader role will collaborate with a team of Radia and design partner engineers, tier-1, and tier-2 avionics system suppliers, as well as interactions with other interfacing systems and partners.
Particularly tasks that the candidate will be responsible for and/or participate in the completion of:
Creation of management plans related to program management, requirements development and development assurance, test & evaluation management, software management, safety management, reliability & maintainability management, certification management.
Establish and administer the tools needed for requirements development, interface management, and certification management.
Mentoring and advising the Radia engineering team on the latest commercial aerospace industry standards and regulations.
Creation of Request for Proposal (RFP) for the design partner, Landing System, Engine System, Avionics System.
Write and release requirement specifications for the Program and the Aircraft.
Write and release requirement specifications for the following systems: Landing System, Engine System, Avionics System, Electrical Generation System, Air Management System, Hydraulic System components, Instrument Panels.
Creation of project schedules and planning documents for the Avionics System IPT.
Write and release of Aircraft Configuration & Description Document.
Write and release the Avionics System Description Document.
