LMT Onsrud, LP seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer in Waukegan, IL.
Design mechanical cutting tools applying knowledge of engineering principles. Define cutting tool components and utility for component parts. Define and control Bills of Material in Adonix ERP system. Design and monitor routings in Adonix ERP system following ISO procedures. Develop Engineering Change Request/Notices (ECR) with a high degree of accuracy to maintain product integrity. Develop Process Change Notices (PCN) after duly verifying process capability. Develop prints in CAD system using AutoCAD software. Create/Modify overlays in CAD system. Define and direct engineering specifications for customer specials. Direct new product testing and recommend design modifications. Carry out new product cost estimation. Direct testing on customer materials and make tool recommendations to customers. Develop test protocols and run tests on CNC machines. Write technical reports to accurately convey test results. Provide technical information and support to customers as needed. Inspect and approve engineering drawings done by other engineering personnel. Correct mistakes in technical drawings. Train manufacturing personnel on new or existing machines introduced to manufacturing floor. Provide management summaries on a regular basis to ensure project milestones are achieved. (Ref#482918)
