Responsibilities:
- Model training and data analysis, including running research infrastructure on various datasets and fitting different models
- Experiment with diverse model architectures and methodologies to identify the most effective approaches for predicting market movements and ensuring that our models are robust, accurate, and capable of handling complex financial data
- Create research infrastructure, including writing and refining code to improve our research infrastructure for machine learning
- Develop tools and frameworks to streamline research processes, enhancing data processing capabilities, and facilitating integration of advanced analytical techniques into our workflows
- Collaborative strategy development, including collaborating with quantitative researchers to discuss and brainstorm ideas for future forecasts and optimizations of our trading algorithms, and exploring new datasets, evaluating potential models, and identifying areas for improvement in our existing methodologies
- Code productionizing, including productionizing successful research outcomes by transitioning validated models and algorithms from the research environment into production systems, enabling production systems to generate daily forecasts and execute trades, and writing and maintaining necessary code to ensure seamless deployment and reliable performance of models in live trading scenarios
- Interviewing potential candidates, primarily PhD graduates and assessing candidates' technical skills, research capabilities, and interpersonal skills
