Perform complex human histocompatibility testing for organ transplantation, including molecular typing, HLA antibody identification, & crossmatch testing including both machine & manual assays. Serve as a technical expert, train & evaluate lab personnel, troubleshoot instrumentation & assay problems, review quality assurance & control data. May evaluate/recommend new technologies, software, & equipment.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a Life Science & 3 years of hands-on testing experience in a clinical &/or clinical histocompatibility lab. Advanced knowledge in all aspects of clinical sample testing & of lab information systems/databases & operation, as well as advanced understanding of complex testing processes & underlying biology of the system. Ability to independently interpret & synthesize results from a wide variety of tests. Ability to communicate clearly & concisely, both verbally & in writing, with people of widely diverse backgrounds. Must have the ability to work effectively as part of collaborative groups with diverse team members; & contribute to a high-functioning team. Valid CA Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS-MTA) or CA Clinical Histocompatibility Scientist (CLS-MTR).
