National Grid USA Service Company, Inc. seeks Principal Analyst, US Market Analytics in Boston, MA to lead electricity system modeling & congestion analysis to support investment decisions, rate case development, business planning, & project development opportunities. Lead preparation of reports of findings, illustrate data graphically & translate complex findings into written text to support key business decisions specific to energy industry.
Master's degree, or foreign degree equivalent in Energy & Earth resources, Engineering, Economics, Energy Systems, Statistics, Data Science or related technical field & 3 years experience in a related occurrence required. Position requires 3 years experience with programming including Python; 2 years experience with transmission system & power flow fundamentals; 2 years experience developing & employing market models, including commercial production cost modeling software (ProMOD, PLEXOS, Aurora, Gridview, GE MAPS, or PSO/Enelytix). Less than 10% travel required domestic within the US to attend or speak at conferences & international to the UK for internal team meetings. Telecommuting may be permitted. When not telecommuting, must report/appear into/at National Grid offices in Boston, MA.
