Quality Engineer will develop quality systems, SOPs, training tools, and documentation for critical-to-quality extrusion processes. Prepare and execute quality control plans, reviewing specifications, tolerances, and related documentation. Lead root cause analysis and structured problem solving using DMAIC tools. Manage PSW requests and PPAP submissions. Support containment actions and ensure timely documentation of customer issues (e.g., CAPAs). Lead weekly meetings with external customers to address current issues and proposed changes. Use Statistical Process Control (SPC) to monitor and reduce process variation. Assist technicians in resolving customer complaints. Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives. Help develop and validate new test standards and equipment. Design gauges and tools for assessing part conformance to specifications. Coordinate programming for measurement systems. Maintain and train others on the Extrusion Non-Conforming Material process. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on design for manufacturability and process capability.
Requirements: Requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology and 12 months experience as Engineer, engineer intern, or closely related field, which must include: Implementing process control charting; Present and articulate quality programs, continuous improvement methodologies and problem-solving techniques; and Gather and analyze data through statistical techniques, perform and analyze process capability studies. Requires knowledge from using computer software tools, such as Excel or Minitab, to analyze data to detect trends and abnormalities and knowledge of quality programs, SPC, process capability, and lean manufacturing principles.
