Logistics Supervisor will be responsible for oversight of daily execution of logistics and warehouse operations in the Crate Department, including supervising performance and daily tasks of 15-30 hourly associates, driving operational efficiency, ensuring safety and quality standards, and leading cross-functional coordination efforts. Responsibilities include: Team leadership and supervision, such as conducting daily Tier 1 meetings, communicating production goals, monitoring team performance. Labor planning and resource allocation: Develop daily and weekly labor plans based on historical trends, real-time data, and forecasted inbound/outbound volumes. Operational execution, such as overseeing crate handling processes related to hundreds of double-hung window orders, including building staging, returning, and reusing wood crates; ensuring efficient flow of materials by coordinating with upstream and downstream departments; monitoring and maintaining accuracy of inventory movements and location transfers in Warehouse Management System. Maintaining safety and compliance, such as conducting daily safety walks and audits to identify and resolve safety hazards, enforcing compliance with OSHA standards and company safety policies, and leading incident investigations. Process Improvement & Leadership, such as leading Lean Six Sigma efforts to improve throughput, reduce waste, and streamline crate logistics, piloting workflows for pallet use and crate return tracking, and working with IT and Planning on system and reporting enhancements. Performance Tracking, such as tracking KPIs (efficiency, cycle time, accuracy, crate volume) using Oracle WMS, Excel, and Power BI, reporting shift performance and participating in weekly reviews. Participating in cross-functional collaboration, including coordinating across operations, planning, transportation, and inventory teams, handling crate escalations and joining daily planning calls, and aligning with Bayport teams on crate returns and order priorities.
Requires a bachelor's degree in Business or closely related field. Will accept equivalent combination of education/experience determined to be equivalent by a qualified evaluation service per 8 CFR 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(D) and 24 months Leadership experience, including areas of logistics, transportation, or operations, and knowledge (from education or experience) of the following: World-class lean and quality initiatives; Power BI and internal KPI dashboards; and Lean Six Sigma DMAIC methodology.
