Research, design, develop, select, and integrate electrical equipment and components for commercial, industrial, or municipal use. Supervise the installation of the equipment and provide quality control during construction. Support the planning, design, and construction of water/wastewater facilities for municipal clients primarily in the Mid-Atlantic region for Arcadis Water South. Provide electrical design and coordination of various projects with an emphasis on power distribution, lighting, communications, security, fire alarm systems, transportation, and monitoring and control systems for water, wastewater, and industrial projects. Instrumentation and controls design including P&IDs, instrument selection, network design, block diagrams, details, for water, wastewater, and industrial projects. Establish design criteria, perform design calculations, develop one-line diagrams, control schematics, plans, details, and specifications. Perform engineering services during construction including reviewing equipment submittals, contractor shop drawings, and responding to contractor Requests for Information (RFI). Conduct field inspections and oversee projects in construction which includes identifying deviations from design, performing general QA/QC of completed work, and monitoring safety compliance. Perform short circuit calculations, coordination studies, and arc flash analysis using SKM Power Tools analysis software. Use AutoCAD and Bluebeam Revu to create and design one-line diagrams, electrical site plans, lighting plans, block diagrams, and related drawings.
Demonstrated working knowledge of the National Electrical Code, other NFPA codes and standards, UL, and OSHA requirements as they apply to the electrical design of municipal water systems.
