90560 - Software DevOps Engineer
Thales DIS USA, Inc. seeks a Software DevOps Engineer in Austin, TX.
Duties:
• Define, architect, collect requirements, search for industry best practices, propose solutions to peers for review, formalize output in documentation.
• Deploy high availability solutions using Cloud Technologies such as Openstack, Kubernetes, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Prometheus utilizing "active/active" architectures which includes multiple instances of the same component that will run in parallel and accept and process traffic at the same time, either within a same site or different sites.
• Define, develop and maintain deployment and operation scripts and tools for deployment automation.
• Participates in maintenance window activities for hosted, on-premises cloud platform changes
• Responsible for Solution platform deployment, installation, patching, and third-party software upgrades on internal and external customer platforms
• Maintain Solution and Database monitoring solutions
• Define, architect, collect customer needs and product needs, providing recommendations for project according to volume and number of transactions and level of availability.
• Define, architect, understand the database design, data available in the database and the required output. Must also consider the volume of data to implement the best approach to collect and process the data to generate the output in an optimal way
• Deploy Spark programs for data extraction and reporting based on high availability solutions utilizing replication technology.
• Participate in technical design review and strategic decision making. Using understanding of many technologies, provide feedback and input to peers to ensure the best design is implemented in the solution.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field plus 5 years of related experience.
Also requires experience in the following:
• 5 years of experience in Server Installation and configuration (RHEL).
• 5 years of knowledge on all phases of software development lifecycle: requirements analysis, specification, design, implementation, code review, testing, and release.
• 3 years of expert level experience in cloud database deployment, management and migration, vSphere, Openstack.
• 2 years of experience in Network and firewall setup and configuration.
• 2 years of experience in Cassandra / MySQL database administration.
• 2 years of experience in Elasticsearch / Filebeat deployment / configuration and administration.
• 2 years of knowledge on UICC and SIM card administration and communication with UICC, including SMS and HTTP transport.
