Invenergy, LLC seeks a Senior Engineer, Interconnections and Grid Analysis in Chicago, IL.
Duties:
• Perform power flow analysis and market related evaluations as part of generation and transmission development activities.
• Review utility interconnection studies (feasibility, impact, stability, and facilities) and negotiate interconnection agreements.
• Provide grid, transmission system planning and congestion evaluation, to assist in development activities mainly in the New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) and the Southeast Electric Reliability Corporation (SERC) regions.
• Review utility, Regional Transmission Organization (RTO) and Independent System Operator (ISO) transmission expansion plans to identify potential opportunities, as well as identifying areas for new transmission projects based on generation technological shifts and the corresponding impacts it has on grid behavior.
• Provide technical assistance in support of Origination and business opportunities for requests for proposal (RFPs) and mergers and acquisitions (M&A).
• Utilize regulatory and compliance knowledge to identify and evaluate areas of critical impact for projects in the interconnection pipeline, including working with the regulatory team to provide input on queue reforms and process changes, as necessary.
• Interpret market rules as they apply to the interconnection study, construction, and operation of generation projects and participate in various industry groups dealing with interconnection and market issues.
• Develop conceptual design of interconnection facilities and costs, including assisting in conceptual design of wind farms, battery storage, and solar electrical collection systems (34.5kV), substations (34.5kV – transmission voltage 115kV – 230kV – 345kV), and project owned transmission lines, also providing assistance during project design and construction for interconnection related issues.
• Provide assistance to asset managers and North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) compliance managers in interconnection and transmission related issues.

Telecommuting permitted within MSA. $125,000 - $155,000 per year.
