FORTNA Systems Inc. seeks a Senior Research Scientist in Mt. Washington, KY.
Duties: Develop mathematical models (including discrete event simulation models) that represent warehousing, distribution and supply chain functions by creating new models and updating/adapting existing models. Implement mathematical models (including discrete event simulation models) for warehousing, distribution and supply chain functions to enable testing and establishing a proof-of-concept tool. Develop algorithms that balance resources in a distribution center and implement the algorithms to enable testing and establishing a proof-of-concept to be handed off to the Software R&D. Run FortnaDCmodeler® on Operations Design projects and support teams with needed data analysis and modeling support. Work directly with Fortna Associates to assess the need and capability of Fortna modeling support. Work with other Fortna Associates to translate proof-of-concept tools to prototype tools for testing by Fortna Associates. Develop and support the development of training modules on models and algorithms that are included in the FortnaDCdesign Suite™ and FortnaWES™. Create and develop materials for external marketing related to FortnaDCdesign Suite™ and FortnaWES™. Telecommuting is permitted.
