McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. seeks a Concrete Senior Estimator in San Diego, CA.
Duties: The Concrete Estimator participates in all aspects of the preconstruction/estimating and bid process for self-perform concrete work. This incorporates review of plans and specs to soliciting and negotiating prices from contractors and suppliers through completion of bid/estimating effort, including closeout. The estimator performs Trade Partner scoping, pricing, quantity takeoffs, and bidding of commercial construction projects and large-scale parking structures.
• Perform quantity take-offs.
• Assist in pricing and bidding of construction projects.
• Communicate with architects and consultants to clarify scope of work, materials and schedule requirements.
• Conduct reviews of milestone documents for development/pricing of value alternative opportunities.
• Participate in the internal estimate review process and assist with final assembly of estimate for presentation to owner.
• Collect/organize all bid information for future reference.
• Aid field operations with change order pricing.
• Direct, coordinate and provide information/documents to subcontractors.
• Prepare contractual exhibits for scope of work for subcontracts.
• Participate in hard bid/estimating/GMP budgeting activities by soliciting subcontractor support and evaluating bids.
• Build relationships with subcontractors, internal clients and other stakeholders, representing McCarthy to the industry in a positive way.
• Maintain currency with the latest estimating technology and techniques.
• Implement all applicable safety and EEO/Affirmative Action programs. Telecommuting is permitted. $124,200 to $134,550 per year.
