Receive, review, and process import documentation. Manage daily customer, agent, and vendor communications. Ensure accurate and timely distribution and release of documents. Arrange U.S. Customs clearances for various commodities in compliance with CBP, FDA, EPA, FWS, USDA, DOT, and other regulations. Coordinate with CFS, terminals, rail yards, and carriers to monitor cargo release and delivery. Communicate with overseas agents on active shipments. Prepare shipment quotes, select cost-effective transport options, and track shipments. Maintain strong carrier relationships, ensure customer satisfaction, and complete files and billing promptly.
Min Reqts: Bachelor's in Intl Bus, Supply Chain Mgmt, or a closely related field. Will accept a foreign degree equivalent. 2 yrs' in job offered or related logistics/freight forwarder role. Exp must include: freight forwarding or similar function with at least 3 of the following: food, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or automotive parts industry; applying knowledge of government agency regulations for Import Transport, US Customs and other agencies that govern Imports; using standard TMS, such as Descartes or Cargowise. Must have knowledge of Incoterms.
