Job Description: Develop and implement a set of techniques or analytics applications to transform raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software. Perform data analytics and reliability failure mode analysis of these tests to improve Seagate's HAMR head design. Perform failure mode categorization on HDD using big data technology to improve drive failure modes. Develop database system to support HDD R&D big data time series and image analytics activities. Develop web based interactive data visualization, API, scorecards and trend charts. Develop and maintain big data hardware and software infrastructure with high performance capabilities. Telecommuting permitted.
Job Requirements: Master's or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or in related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a computer-related occupation. Special Requirements: Position requires experience, knowledge or coursework in each of the following skills: 1. Web application developed using Python, HTML, and JavaScript, Django framework, Celery, Rabbit MQ and MongoDB; 2. Oracle database, Presto database, and MySQL database; 3. Statistical six-sigma analysis using Pandas, NumPy and Scipy libraries; 4. Host Apache webservers for accessing drive log data from the servers; 5. Maintain production windows and Linux (Centos) servers and Virtual Machines (VMs); and 6. NodeJS application development. Employment and background checks may be required. Salary Range: $120,744 to $159,993 per year.
