Aptiv seeks Product Systems Engineer in Troy, MI.
Ensure that all stakeholder requests (scope of the work requested by customer) are clearly defined. Responsible for ensuring that customer specifications and customer specific requirements for products are collected and maintained. Oversee the analysis of engineering systems: Define system functions and allocate system elements to build up the Functional Architecture; Identify and create Use Cases (End-to-end functions) of the system, product or platform; Refine Use Cases to identify system functions. Responsible for the consistent documentation of Use Cases and System Functions in the PDD: Specify Use Cases and be responsible for their completeness towards stakeholder requirements, establishing traceability, verification criteria and responsibilities; Specify non-functional product requirements, process and project execution requirements, requirements for test and validation, requirements for manufacturing. Coordinate and align system requirements with all affected competencies and ensure the review of system requirements and clarification of resulting issues. Clarify on customer questions with support from the Product System Function Owner. Participate in Program Increment Planning, System check out tests, System Demos and Retrospectives. Provide oversight and foster built-in quality processes.
This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field (or its foreign equivalent) and 5 years of experience in the job offered or related positions. Alternatively, position requires a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field (or its foreign equivalent) and 2 years of experience in the job offered or related positions. Must have 3 years (or 2 with a Master's) of experience in the automotive domain with experience in systems engineering. Role also requires 2 years of experience in each of the following: CAN, Functional Safety (ISO26262 Standards), and Model based Systems Engineering; Simulation tools like CANalyzer, Requirement Management tools, VISIO, JIRA, CANape, or CANoe; MATLAB simulation and ASPICE. Lastly, must have 1 year of experience testing and validating automotive components, including test suite and bench development on Model and HIL based setups.
