• Work with technology and thought leaders, system engineers, marketing and cross functional leads to identify opportunities for the development of new architectures and enabling technologies.
• Responsible for concept selection, proof of concept prototyping, and trade off analysis.
• Develop innovative concepts and proof of concept hardware to validate new architectures and enabling technologies using SolidWorks CAD and analysis tools.
• Execute detail part, sub-system and system level design using SolidWorks.
• Conduct detailed design reviews at all levels including concept, preliminary and final.
• Act as design lead for complex subsystem design.
• Lead and specify commercial part selection.
• Responsible for execution of "in person" design verification and data collection to validate designs meet or exceed requirements and specification.
• Report out and defend results to management and cross functional leads.
• Coach and mentor junior engineers and new hires in several areas including the product development process, mechanical design principles, advanced SolidWorks tools and techniques for design and analysis.
$140,587 - $154,900 per year.
