EMP SERV, LLC seeks Swine Lead (multiple positions) in Pipestone, MN.
Duties: Responsible for the overall management of farrow and gilt development units including maximizing feed intake, feeder management including daily adjustments, feed ration management, water flow and availability, and minimizing stress events. Monitor area ventilation system including air flow, speed, and exchange, set up temperature vs. actual; and conduct environmental assessments including laying patterns, humidity, cleanliness. Manage health including medication/vaccination schedules, treatment as prescribed by veterinarian and record adequate treatment identification of all animals. Oversee and manage gilt nursery including accurate pen stocking densities/square footage. Assist with the replacement of gilts including selection of gilt. Oversee gilt and record data including mortality, removals, and Heat No Service (HNS) and ensure weekly targets are met. Perform inventory and keep record of Gilt entry protocol including ear tagging and recording within 7 days of arrival, daily movements into gestation barn, HNS events, mortality and culls. Conduct weekly inventory tracking and GDU snapshot. Observe boar exposure and conduct and record heat detection.
40 hours/week, $50,000 per year. Telecommuting permitted. Requires travel and placement at indeterminate client locations throughout the United States.
