Duties include: Diagnose & treat diseases, injuries, & malformations of teeth & gums & related oral structures; Treat diseases of nerve, pulp, & other dental tissues affecting viability of teeth; Administer anesthetics to limit the amount of pain experienced by patients during procedures; Advise & instruct patients regarding preventative dental care, the causes & treatment of dental problems, & oral health care services; Examine teeth, gums, & related tissues using dental instruments, x-rays & other diagnostic equipment, to evaluate dental health, diagnose diseases or abnormalities, & plan appropriate treatments.
Must have a DMD/DDS (or foreign equivalent) & current state license to practice dentistry.
