Duties:
• Act as technical lead by defining and delivering well-scoped milestones for projects in service of quarterly goals and objectives defined by the business. This may include assigning and reviewing tasks to other team members.
• Participate in sprint ceremonies (planning, refinement, retro) to ensure test coverage throughout the software development life cycle and confirm work is meeting the needs of the product teams.
• Identify when results aren't moving the needle for business goals or serving the needs of customers in a meaningful way and work to redirect focus to more impactful projects.
• Take responsibility for failures on projects and take action to prevent them in the future with the expectation to share learnings from the failures so others can benefit from them.
• Support the growth of teammates by taking into account their skills, backgrounds and working styles when establishing and influencing best practices as well as helping them with their craft, providing guidance, and setting a good example.
• Propose, implement, and advise on reasonable quality metrics for the engineering teams to drive the improvement of the quality standard for our products.
• Detect and alert teams to important risks to their products they may be unaware of and work with the team to develop solutions to those risks.
• Drive the creation of a quality bar for complex product launches as well as notice upfront and compellingly advocate for addressing quality risks on these product launches (e.g. compressed timelines, untestable components) before they become a problem.
