Develop/maintain models for transmission studies including collection, review and/or modification of: equipment ratings, impedances, contingency sets, protection and control parameters, as well as system topology. Conduct adequacy assessments and develop options to meet objectives. Identify technical issues and develop solutions. Understanding, interpreting and applying federal, regional, industry, corporate transmission planning standards and regulations of authorities. Prepare regional transmission expansion studies. Collaborate to perform analyses and provide technical support in planning. Train junior staff.
Minimum requirements: Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or related quantitative field and 5 years experience as an Electrical Engineer or related occupation, including 5 years experience with each of the following: Power system transmission analysis tools: TARA, ASPEN, and PSSE or PSCAD; Python; Applying electrical theory for planning electrical power supply systems; and Working with federal, regional, and local planning standards; OR Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related quantitative field and at least three years experience as an Electrical Engineer or related occupation, including 3 years of experience with tools/skills listed. Up to 10% travel required between CT, MA, & NH (Eversource service territory). Hybrid option to WFH (3 days/week in office).
