Staff Software Engineer at Magic Leap, Inc. Position located in Sunnyvale, CA. Design and implement AR/VR features and functionality for the system applications and Platform. Design, prototype, and develop a variety of platform software services and frameworks utilizing the AOSP framework to enhance the Magic Leap device operating system capabilities. Build low-latency applications that run on real-time operating systems and performance-constrained environments. Automate and unit test platform application and services as much as possible. Implement and lead development of features into next generation XR platform in the area of Android framework, Android framework core, Android Accessibility Services, XR spatialization, Android XR System UI. Implement enterprise features such as licensing support and device authentication using OAuth, CAC card authentication, as well as user features such as Miracast, 3D capture. Work with other software component technical leads, product managers, software release management, QA, and external partner teams to help design and develop Magic Leap's AR/VR features. Debug below HAL (Hardware abstraction layers) as required. Remote work available.
Must have a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field; plus 2 years of experience in the position offered or related occupation. Must have 2 years of experience with the following skills: Embedded software development; Audio/Video encoder/decoder technologies; Android internals and coding; Programming languages Java/JNI/C/C++/Kotlin; Android Multimedia/Camera capture framework pipeline; Protocols such as RTP/RTCP/RTSP/NTP/TCP/UDP/HTTP/Miracast; Android CTS framework.
