Gather, analyze and summarize information and trends to develop project reports, optimize equipment performance and control costs; develop project proposals and estimates based on engineering standards, materials, equipment, expenses and project objectives; have knowledge and experience using technical software such as Bluebeam, Autodesk Build, Netsuite or AutoCAD, to work with architectural drawings and provide detailed cost estimates; develop and perform tests to evaluate product performance and initiate appropriate corrective actions; establish and maintain communication with general contractors and subcontractors throughout project process to understand and complete scope of work; manage online portals to receive and review construction plans and specifications; set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures; attend weekly meetings with project management on budget and time forecasts, value engineering, bid management and specification improvement; prepare and submit requests for information (RFI) and change orders to developers, general contractors; attend corporate tradeshows and networking events to gain presence in industry and seeking new opportunities; train and work with other Project Engineers to ensure company standards are maintained.
Requirements:
Assist in documenting policies and procedures of department; work with jobsite superintendent and foreman to monitor subcontractor performance as it relates to contract and ensuring quality workmanship. No supervision required; travel approximately 15%, infrequent domestic travel to unanticipated client project sites.
Requires Master's in mechanical, civil, architectural, structural engineering or similar + 12 months relevant professional experience which must include gather, analyze and summarize information and trends to develop project reports, optimize equipment performance and control costs; develop project proposals and estimates based on engineering standards, materials, equipment, expenses and project objectives; have knowledge and experience using technical software such as Bluebeam, Autodesk Build, Netsuite or AutoCAD, to work with architectural drawings and provide detailed cost estimates; work with jobsite superintendent and foreman to monitor subcontractor performance as it relates to contract and ensuring quality workmanship.
