Urban Planner II's needed in Chicago, IL (telecommuting permitted), to review project schedules, task lists, and communication from project managers. Conduct data collection, including reviewing public datasets, downloading GIS files, and extracting census information.
Requirements:
BS in Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture, or related field (will accept equivalent foreign degree) + 3 years in the position above, as a Land Planner, or in a related urban planning role. Experience must include at least 2 years with:
- Urban planning data analysis and synthesis, including interpreting and analyzing demographic, land use, economic, and census data, and producing written summaries that identify trends and support findings with data
- Performing mapping and spatial analysis using ArcGIS Pro or ArcGIS Online software, including symbolizing layers, joining tabular data, and creating layouts
- Interpreting and applying zoning codes, subdivision regulations, and development standards, including preparing, reviewing, and submitting development applications, site plans, and entitlement requests
- Preparing community engagement outreach materials, including synthesizing public input in summary boards and meeting notes
