Technology Full Time Consultant, IBM Corporation, Armonk, NY and various unanticipated client sites throughout the US (Up to 40% telecommuting permitted): Collaborate with stakeholders to understand issues, risks, and business and technical interdependencies. Prepare relevant case studies or prototypes and recommend solutions using expertise in implementing Oracle Retail suite of products. Analyze functional design documents and categorize business requirements based on complexity and impact. Develop flowcharts or algorithms for technical design using PL/SQL, Unix Shell Scripting, and C programming. Create detailed technical designs and provide insights into module performance affected by requirements. Identify and resolve bottlenecks in the project lifecycle by applying efficient algorithms for data processing in Oracle databases, including performance tuning. Enhance batch programs to process large volumes of incoming data from downstream systems, ensuring adherence to SLAs (Service Level Agreements) for system availability. Prepare and categorize requirements into business, technical, and operational needs using expertise in Oracle Retail suite of products. Design and develop user interfaces using Oracle Forms technology. Execute test cases using HP Quality Center to evaluate system performance and compare results with benchmarks. Modify SQL programs and system parameters to optimize Oracle database performance. Monitor batch processes using Workload Scheduler and resolve failure alerts through xMatters. Analyze application performance with Oracle Automatic Workload Repository (AWR) and address bottlenecks. Suggest system parameter adjustments for memory, CPU, and disk usage to ensure optimal performance with efficient algorithms. Upgrade user interfaces developed with Oracle Forms to Enterprise Architecture Framework (EAF) technologies. Set up data for User Acceptance Testing of the Oracle Retail suite and resolve issues tracked through Jira. Utilize: Oracle Retail Merchandising System, Oracle Retail Integration Bus, Oracle Allocation, Oracle Retail Demand Forecasting, Oracle Retail Advanced Inventory Planning Application, Oracle Forms/Report, Oracle PL/SQL Programming, Oracle Pro*C Programming.
Requirements:
Required: Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or related (employer will accept a Bachelor's degree plus five (5) years of progressive experience in lieu of a Master's degree) and one (1) year of experience as a Package Solution Consultant or related. One (1) year of experience must include utilizing Oracle Retail Merchandising System, Oracle Retail Integration Bus, Oracle Allocation, Oracle Retail Demand Forecasting, Oracle Retail Advanced Inventory Planning Application, Oracle Forms/Report, Oracle PL/SQL Programming, Oracle Pro*C Programming.
