Build and improve data platform framework to enable reporting of sales & orders to customers of Talech POS solution.
Requirements:
At least a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or Software Engineering + 5 years experience as Senior Data Engineer, Senior Software Engineer, Big Data Engineer or related + 5 years experience with:
- Designing, developing, testing, operating & maintaining products
- Taking full stack ownership by consistently writing production-ready & testable code
- Creating optimal design adhering to architectural best practices
- Considering scalability, reliability & performance of systems/contexts affected when defining technical designs
- Performing analysis on failures, proposing design changes & encouraging operational improvements
- Making sound design/coding decisions keeping customer experience in forefront
- Taking feedback from code review & applying changes to meet standards
- Conducting code reviews to provide guidance on engineering best practices & compliance with development procedures
- Ensuring all aspects of product development follow company compliance & security best practices
- Software reliability engineering standards embedded into development standards
- Reviewing tasks critically & ensuring they are appropriately prioritized & sized for incremental delivery
- Anticipating & communicating blockers & delays before they require escalation
Technologies utilized: Java; Python; Spark/PySpark; Kafka; AWS; Docker; Airflow; Apache Druid; EMR; S3; Kubernetes; Big Query; & MySQL
Experience may be gained concurrently. Position may allow work from home within commuting distance of worksite.
