Requirements:
- Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in CS, IT, or related field
- At least 5 years progressive, post-baccalaureate experience as a programmer or developer
- 5 years of experience in:
1) Advanced programming using Ruby, Python or Golang
2) Expertise in SQL & interacting with MySQL or Postgres databases
3) Proficiency in automated software testing techniques, including writing & maintaining unit or integration tests
4) Basic devops work, including working in Unix environments, bash scripting, & strong familiarity with Docker
5) Actively collaborating & communicating with data scientists, product managers, or stakeholders to understand requirements & translate them into effective technical solutions
- 3 years of experience building ETL/data pipelines
- 2 years of experience in data modeling, data integration, & data warehousing
- Experience with workflow engines (Airflow or Argo Workflows)
- Experience developing complex web apps with focus on backend development, including building APIs & database schemas
- Web app frameworks experience (Rails or Django)
Additional Information:
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
