Req: Bachelor's or foreign equiv deg in CS, IT, or related & at least 5 yrs progressive, post bacc. exp as a programmer or developer. Also req. 5 years of exp. in each of the following:
1) Advanced programming using any of the following server-side languages: Ruby, Python or Golang.
2) Expertise in SQL & interacting w/ any of the following relational databases: MySQL or Postgres.
3) Proficiency in automated software testing techniques, including writing & maintaining unit or integration tests.
4) Basic devops work, inclu. working in Unix environments, bash scripting, & strong familiarity w/ Docker.
5) Actively collaborating & communicating w/ data scientists, product managers, or stakeholders to understand req. & translate them into effective technical solutions.
Also req. 3 yrs of exp building ETL/data pipelines & 2 yrs of exp data modeling, data integration, & data warehousing. Exp w/ workflow engines, either Airflow or Argo Workflows; exp developing complex web apps w/ focus on backend development inclu. building APIs & database schemas w/ web app frameworks such as Rails or Django.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
